The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and EPA have reached an agreement with Paul Bunn settling the complaint filed on July 14, 2020, that alleged that Mr. Bunn and Snyder Logging & Landscaping, LLC (Snyder Logging) violated section 301(a) of the Clean Water Act (CWA) by discharging dredge or fill material into waters of the United States without a CWA permit. The United States settled separately with Snyder Logging in 2020. Beginning in June 2013, Mr. Bunn and his contractor, Snyder Logging, excavated soil and vegetation from approximately three acres of wetlands adjacent to the Yaak River in Montana on Mr. Bunn�s property.
