On September 1, 2016, Region 2 signed an administrative settlement agreement pursuant to Section 122(h) of CERCLA for recovery of response costs concerning the Vega Alta Public Supply Wells Superfund Site, an NPL site located in the municipality of Vega Alta, Puerto Rico. The agreement is with the current or former tenants at the industrial park where the Site is located. The Settling Parties have undertaken response actions under two EPA administrative orders. The remedial action is largely complete and EPA undertook a fourth Five Year Review in 2014. The settlement provides for reimbursement to EPA of $478,631.04, which is 100% of the costs EPA paid in connection with overseeing work at the Site from April 1, 2003 through December 31, 2015. Under the settlement, the Settling Parties have also agreed to reimburse EPA's future costs through a cost billing arrangement.
