In 2012, REM Electric, Inc., purchased a 58-acre property in Yorkville, Ohio along the Ohio River. The property was formerly owned by RG Steel-Wheeling, LLC. During their tenure as owner and operator, the property was used for frequent dumping of waste paints, waste oils, and paint solvents. No site data exists relating to contaminant type and extent, or geologic setting. By this RCRA 3013 Consent Order, REM Electric has agreed to investigate for, and monitor, the nature and extent of contamination, if any, in soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water.
