Region 1 and GE signed an administrative settlement agreement and order on consent on August 1, 2016 for the Fletchers Paint Works Superfund Site in Milford, New Hampshire. The settlement agreement is for a non-time critical removal action for sediments at the Site. GE will begin performing the work immediately. GE has been performing the remedial design and remedial action for soils and groundwater under a unilateral administrative order. GE had challenged that UAO and lost in court as the First Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the District Court?s liability finding against GE in 2011.
