On September 30, 2016, Region 5 entered into an Expedited Settlement Agreement (ESA) and Final Order with Electronic Components and Services, Inc. (Electronic Components and Services) of Fox Lake, Wisconsin, commencing and concluding a matter under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) for a settlement amount of $15,000. EPA alleged that Electronic Components Services had failed to: label satellite accumulation containers; keep closed hazardous waste satellite accumulation area containers; label less than 180-day containers as hazardous waste; mark 180-day containers with the accumulation dates; keep less than 180-day containers closed; conduct weekly inspections; maintain hazardous waste determination records; maintain land disposal restriction records; mark lamps as universal waste lamps; and demonstrate the accumulation time for universal waste lamps.
