On August 30, 2016, EPA Region 6 issued a Consent Agreement on Final Order (CAFO) under its authority pursuant to 112(r)(1) of the Clean Air Act (CAA) to Americas Styrenics located in St. James, Louisiana. The CAFO was issued in response to violations of the general duty clause in section 112(r)(1) of the CAA. The CAFO requires Americas Styrenics to pay a penalty of $31,875 to settle this matter. Americas Styrenics must respond to EPA Region 6 within thirty (30) days of the effective date of this CAFO.
