On December 15, 2016, EPA Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement and final order (ESA) with Sung Keun Kim, dba Meadowbrook Convenience Center, to address violations of Washington's Underground Storage Tank (UST) rules at its facility in Yakima, Washington. Respondent failed to conduct release detection on its three pressurized piping lines. Owners should conduct a line tightness test (LTT) and an automatic line leak detector (ALLD) test annually on each product line to minimize the risk of a petroleum release to the environment. Corrective actions taken under this settlement help to prevent up to 20,000 gallons of gasoline from two tanks and 5,000 gallons of diesel fuel from one tank from being released to the environment. Respondent provided current LTT and ALLD tests and agreed to pay a $6,390-penalty.
