On November 2, 2016, EPA Region 6 issued two Consent Agreements and Final Orders under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) to Weatherford Artificial Lift Systems facilities located in Texas and Oklahoma. The CAFOs addressed 8 Weatherford Artificial Lift Systems facilities in the Texas and Oklahoma area. The CAFOs were issued in response to violations including: failure to provide proper notification, failure to comply with applicable hazardous waste generator requirements and failure to make adequate hazardous waste determinations. The Texas and Oklahoma CAFOs each impose a penalty of $267,300 and $20,400 respectively (total $287,700) and require Weatherford Artificial Lift Systems, LLC to certify and document compliance with RCRA hazardous waste generator requirements.
