EPA Issues CAFO to Imperial Zinc Corp., Chicago, Illinois: EPA will be issuing an Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) commencing and concluding an action against Imperial Zinc Corp. for alleged violations of the Clean Air Act. The CAFO alleges that Imperial Zinc Corp. failed to obtain a construction and operating permit for its secondary zinc furnaces required by the Illinois State Implementation Plan and failed to comply with the emissions limits and performance testing, monitoring, recordkeeping, notification, and reporting requirements in the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Secondary Nonferrous Metal Processing Area Sources (Subpart TTTTTTT). The CAFO requires Imperial Zinc to pay a $25,000 penalty.
