On October 7, 2015, EPA detected a release and/or threatened release of a hazardous substance at or from the refrigeration system at the Caribbean Can Superfund Site. The Settling Party undertook a removal action at the Site from October 13 to October 25, 2015. EPA incurred response costs, pursuant to CERCLA, for its response activities performed at the Site, including oversight of the removal action. On October 4, 2016, EPA issued a demand for payment to the Settling Party for the full amount of response costs incurred by EPA at or in connection with the Site.
