## Summary

On March 31, 2017, Region 10 filed a consent agreement and final order resolving violations of the Clean Water Act by Bigge Crane and Rigging Company Inc., located in Auburn, Washington.  Respondent, which operates a heavy construction equipment rental business operated for 36 months with an inadequate stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP).  In addition to the inadequate SWPPP, the Respondent failed to: observe proper sampling and holding techniques for effluent samples, conduct and record monthly visual inspections, conduct and document required training, properly fill-out the discharge monitoring reports, and had the potential for illicit discharges due to inadequate vehicle washing facilities.  The environmental benefits of this enforcement action will be a prevention of possible future discharges due to sloppy work practices, inattention to detail, and a failure to follow the Permit and SWPPP.  The Respondent agreed to pay a penalty of $48,000.00.
