On January 5, 2017, EPA Region III filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order, simultaneously commencing and concluding an administrative action against ACM Technologies, Inc. (ACM), of 344 Granary Road, Forrest Hill, MD 21050, for four alleged violations of the authorized Maryland Hazardous Waste Management Regulations. ACM, a large quantity generator of hazardous waste, is a provider of water treatment systems and services. The alleged violations were identified during a September 15, 2015 inspection and included the following: (1) operating without a permit or interim status; (2) failure to provide job descriptions for employees designated to handle hazardous waste; (3) failure to provide an adequate contingency plan; (4) and failure to keep closed hazardous waste containers. Count 1 was based on Respondent?s failures as set forth in (2) ? (4) above, as well as storing waste for greater than 90 days and failing to properly label containers of hazardous waste with accumulation start dates and the words ?hazardous waste.? Per the terms of the Consent Agreement, Respondent will pay a civil penalty in the amount of $29,493.00.
