Summary

EPA and American GreenFuels, LLC (AGF) have signed and filed an administrative consent agreement and final order (CAFO) settling a Clean Air Act (CAA) administrative enforcement case for violations of CAA New Source Performance Standard regulations at AGF?s biodiesel manufacturing facility in New Haven, Connecticut. The settlement CAFO became effective on January 30, 2017. EPA began its investigation of this facility when it was owned by AGF?s corporate predecessor, Greenleaf Biofuels, LLC. AGF took over the facility in December 2015 and agreed in 2016 to install a new air emission control system (a catalytic oxidizer). The new oxidizer will substantially reduce methanol emissions from AGF?s biodiesel manufacturing processes. Under the settlement CAFO, AGF will begin operation of the new oxidizer by March 1, 2017. AGF will also pay a settlement penalty of $192,000.
