On November 10, 2016, EPA filed a consent agreement and final order settling an administrative penalty action against Billings Diesel & Marine Service, Inc. for not capturing all of the non-stormwater discharges from bottom power-washing on its marine rails at its Stonington, Maine facility in violation of the Clean Water Act. The company has agreed to pay a $41,000 penalty and undertake a new process for capturing the discharge when it power washes boats. In-line with ?Next Gen? principles, the company will be sending EPA videos of this new process in operation so as to confirm it efficiency at capturing the discharge
