On January 26, 2017, Region 2 entered into a streamlined administrative cost recovery settlement agreement under CERCLA 122(h) with the Respondent, the current owner and operator of the Standard Chlorine Jacobus Avenue Site, located in Kearny, Hudson County, New Jersey. The agreement provides for reimbursement of costs incurred by EPA for sampling and oversight of a removal action at the Site prior to August 14, 2014. A separate Administrative Order on Consent (AOC) is in place with the company, covering the post-August 14, 2014 removal work at the Site and reimbursement of associated oversight costs.
