EPA Region 6 is issuing an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to 42 U.S.C. ? 300f, et seq. of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), and its implementing regulations, 40 C.F.R. Part 141 to Oasis State Park, located in Portales County, NM. The AO was issued in response to violations of the maximum contaminant level (MCL) for nitrates in drinking water. The AO requires Oasis State Park to remove nitrates from the water supply as soon as feasible, and must respond to EPA Region 6 with a schedule for compliance.
