EPA received a tip/complaint alleging regulated renovations were being performed at a pre-1978 property located in Rochester, NY not following lead-safe work practices, a violation of the Renovation, Repair & Painting (RRP) Rule. The Respondent construct and lease commercial and residential buildings and their written response to EPA's Information Request Letter indicated it had not satisfied the Firm Certification, Certified Renovator, and Recordkeeping requirements of the RRP Rule. EPA's settlement includes a monetary penalty, requires the Respondent to come into compliance, and to create a Compliance Plan which they will use to ensure similar violations do not recur. The Respondent will be required to provide Compliance Plan quarterly activity reports to EPA, for a period of 1 year following settlement of this case.
