On November 9, 2016, EPA inspectors conducted an inspection of the City of Danville Water Treatment Facility in Danville, Virginia ( facility ) to determine compliance with the Risk Management Program ( RMP ), Clean Air Act 112(r)(7) and the implementing regulations of 40 CFR Part 68. The facility is a water treatment facility which uses one ton chlorine cylinders in its process. The facility maintains a maximum of seven cylinders on-site,14,000 pounds. Based on the inspection observations, it was found that the facility failed to have documentation of its management system, records of training, mechanical integrity operating procedures, and compliance audit for 2014.
