ENVIRONMENTAL APPEALS BOARD DECLINES TO REVIEW DEFAULT ORDER IN CASE INVOLVING LEAD BASE PAINT VIOLATIONS. [Docket Number TSCA-03-2017-0106 and TSCA Appeal No. 18-(02)]
On July 12, 2018, the Environmental Appeals Board decided not to exercise sua sponte review of an Initial Decision and Default Order by Region III's RJO. The RJO had found that RFN Enterprise, Inc., a painting contractor, had violated the RRP rules while renovating a home in Baltimore, Maryland. This means that that the RJO?s Decision and Order are now a final order and the Respondent is responsible for a penalty of $38,520. The State provided the initial information about violations at the house to the Region.
