On September 5, 2017, Region 10 filed a consent agreement and final order resolving violations of the Clean Water Act by Big State Logistics, Inc., located in Fairbanks, Alaska. Respondent, which operates a petroleum fuel distribution operation, discharged fuel oil to waters of the U.S. without a permit as a result of a tanker truck roll-over on the Richardson Highway, Milepost 42, at the Tsina River. The spill location was approximately 4 miles upstream from confluence with the Tiekel River, which is used for Coho and Chinook salmon spawning and rearing. The company agreed to pay a penalty of $10,000.
