Region III Enters into an Expedited Settlement Agreement with Maryland National Capital Park & Planning Commission for violations of RCRA Subtitle I. On July 19, 2017, the Regional Judicial Officer issued a Final Order accepting the Expedited Settlement Agreement negotiated pursuant to Section 9006 of RCRA to settle violations of RCRA Subtitle I, and Maryland's federally authorized underground storage tank program, by Maryland National Capital Park & Planning Commission. Respondent is the owner and operator of two USTs located at the Watkins Regional Park facility in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Violations include a failure to investigate and report a possible release, and a failure to maintain tank release detection records. Under the terms of the settlement, Respondent will pay a civil penalty in the amount of $4,400.00 and has returned to compliance with the violations cited.
