On March 15, 2017, EPA Region 6 issued a Compliance Agreement Final Order under its authority pursuant to CAA part 112(r)(7), 42 U.S.C. part 7412 to Pilgrim's Pride Corporation located in Mount Pleasant, Texas. The CAFO was issued in response to alleged violations of CAA part 112(r)(7). The CAFO requires Pilgrim's Pride Corporation to pay a civil penalty in the amount of $40,000 within 30 days of the effective fate of the filed CAFO.
