## Summary

St. Onge's Hidden Country (St. Onge), a seasonal transient non-community water supply in Lowell, VT, violated the Safe Drinking Water Act's Revised Total Coliform Rule and Vermont's Operator Certification requirements. The Revised Total Coliform Rule is designed to increase public health protection of drinking water by requiring public water supply systems to routinely monitor their water distribution system for total coliform bacteria and take measures to eliminate potential pathways of contamination into a public water supply's distribution system. The certification requirements ensure that trained personnel operate public drinking water systems. Vermont implements an approved drinking water program but has not been approved to implement the Revised Total Coliform Rule. At the request of the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation, Region 1 issued an order to St. Onge on September 14, 2017 requiring compliance with the federal and state drinking water requirements
