On March 29, 2018, Region 1 filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order that addresses Clean Air Act violations of John S. Lane and Son, Inc. (Lane) at Lane?s stone-crushing facility located in Amherst, MA.  The violations concern certain provisions of the New Source Performance Standards for Non-Metallic Mineral Processing Plants, found at 40 C.F.R. Part 60, and the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for Stationary Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engines, found at 40 C.F.R. Part 63.  Lane has achieved compliance with these two provisions of the Clean Air Act and has agreed to pay a penalty of $93,500 pursuant to the CAFO.  Region 1 has coordinated this action with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection
