This case addresses violations of the Clean Air Act (CAA) by Moke America LLC ( Moke ) which imported 12 disassembled motor vehicles which were not covered by an EPA issued certificate of conformity as required by the CAA. The CAA requires that motor vehicles be covered by a certificate of conformity even if they are imported disassembled.
As part of the settlement with EPA, Moke paid a $8.900 civil penalty to the US Treasury and exported non-conforming vehicles.
