EPA received a tip/complaint from the Princeton (NJ) Health Dept, alleging the Respondent was performing regulated renovations at a pre-1978 home located at Bank Street, Princeton, NJ 08542, not following lead-safe work practices, a violation of the Renovation, Repair & Painting (RRP) Rule. On 11/3/2015 EPA inspectors physically inspected the site with two Princeton Health Dept staffers, and the project manager for the Respondent. The following violations of the RRP Rule are preliminarily indicated: 1) Failure to provide the owner of the unit with the EPA-approved lead hazard information pamphlet, 2) Failure to post warning signs, 3) Failure to cover the ground with plastic sheeting or other impermeable material to collect falling paint debris, 4) Failure to ensure dust and debris does not migrate to adjacent properties, and 5) Failure to establish and maintain records of compliance. EPA seeks a settlement requiring the Respondent to come into compliance with applicable regulations, and pay a monetary penalty.
