On April 19, 2018, EPA Region III filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order simultaneously commencing and concluding an administrative action proceeding against American University for alleged violations of the TSCA PCB regulations in connection for failing to properly identify and manifest PCB waste for shipment to a treatment, storage, and disposal facility. Per the terms of the CAFO, Respondent will pay a civil penalty in the amount of $6,375. EPA contacted the District Department of the Environment regarding this matter, which expressed no objection to this settlement.
