On May 4, 2018, EPA Region Ill filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) regarding Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, DC. The respondent to the CAFO is the U.S. Department of the Navy (Navy) and the CAFO addresses alleged violations of RCRA Subtitle C requirements (violation of generator requirements) and the CAA (violation of its Title V permit). The settlement requires a payment of $51,920. Throughout the entire enforcement process, Region III coordinated with the DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) and DOEE is supportive of Region Ill's efforts.
