On May 7, 2018, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) under its authority pursuant to Section 301 of the Clean Water Act, 33 U.S.C. 1311, to the City of Las Vegas (Respondent) located in New Mexico. The AO was issued in response to National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit violations at the Las Vegas WWTP for Total Aluminum violations and not submitting Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMR). The AO requires Respondent to achieve compliance with the NPDES Permit Total Aluminum limits and submit all DMRs within 30 days. Respondent must respond in writing to EPA Region 6 within 30 days of the effective date of the AO.
