On May 25, 2018, Region 5 filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order with Environmental Geo-Technologies, Inc (EGT), commencing and concluding an action for alleged violations of hazardous waste provision of RCRA. EGT is an underground injection well facility that is permitted for storage and treatment under RCRA. The violations included accumulating generated wastes for more than 90 days, failing to sign a returned manifest, failing to close and label containers and failing to have adequate leak detection systems.
