Region 10 Settles with Boise Hunter Homes (Boise, Idaho) for Clean Water Act Violations
On September 12, 2018, Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement resolving violations of the Clean Water Act by Boise Hunter Homes, located in Boise, Idaho. Respondent, who operated a construction site, failed to identify, install, and maintain Best Management Practices (BMP), failed to properly sign and certify inspection report, and failed to update the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) when operational plans were altered. Since BMPs are crucial to preventing sediment, and other pollutants, from entering the Boise River, the environmental benefit of this action is a reduction in the potential for a pollutant discharge to Waters of the U.S. The Respondent agrees to pay a penalty of $2,850.
