EPA and the Val-Matic Valve and Mfg. Corp. of Elmhurst, Illinois entered into a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Section 3008(a) Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) resolving violations relating to operating a hazardous waste storage facility without a RCRA Permit due to failure to meet certain generator permit exemption conditions. The CAFO requires Val-Matric to pay a penalty of $54,959 and to perform a supplemental environment project (SEP) costing at least $39,491.
