A resident notified EPA on June 6, 2018, the Starr School was out of water. The Blackfeet Solid Waste Management Director stated that the Starr School experienced an
electrical surge, which blew the well pump and drained their finished water storage tank. Loss of pressure in a drinking water distribution system may cause backsiphonage,
which can allow disease causing organisms to enter the distribution system. EPA required the System to provide an alternative source of water and post/deliver boil water
advisory immediately; disinfect and flush the system after replacing the pump; and take 3 consecutive daily total coliform samples.
