On September 14, 2018 EPA Region 10 reached a settlement with United States Bureau of Reclamation, Grand Coulee Dam Project (Grand Coulee, WA) for violations of the resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). As the result of an inspection conducted by EPA on May 24-25, 2017, EPA identified violations of RCRA. The violations included: failure to make a hazardous waste determination; failure to conduct required weekly inspections of hazardous waste accumulation areas; improper container management and labeling requirements; storage of hazardous waste beyond 180 days without a permit; and, violations of used oil and universal waste requirements. The Bureau of Reclamation agreed to pay a penalty of $115,500
