On July 17, 2018, EPA Region III filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) regarding the U.S. Coast Guard-Yard Hawkins Point in Baltimore, MD. The respondent to the CAFO is the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and the CAFO addresses alleged violations of RCRA Subtitle C requirements (violation of generator requirements) and the CAA (violation of its Title V permit). The settlement requires a payment of $47,597. Throughout the entire enforcement process, Region III coordinated with the Maryland Department of the Environment and they are supportive of Region III's efforts.
