On October 25, 2017, EPA inspectors conducted an inspection of the Wal-Mart Distribution Center #6047 facility in Bedford, PA facility to determine compliance with the Risk Management Program ( RMP ), Clean Air Act 112(r)(7) and the implementing regulations of 40 C.F.R. Part 68. The facility is a refrigerated warehousing and distribution facility which uses 48,000 pounds of anhydrous ammonia in its refrigeration process. Based on inspection observations. it was found that the facility failed to document that equipment complied with recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices. Specifically, the facility did not have an eyewash station/safely shower outside the machinery room.
