On July 26, 2018, EPA filed a consent agreement and final order settling lead-based paint violations with Perfect Painters and More, Inc. for RRP violations at two homes in Baltimore and one in Hagerstown, MD. The firm violated the RRP Rule at one site by failing to contain waste from the renovation activities before removing the waste the work area. For the three sites, the company did not retain the records required by the RRP Rule, did not provide homeowners with EPA?s Lead Hazard Information Pamphlet and also failed to obtain its initial firm certification from EPA. The Respondent will pay a $15,160 penalty. The State provided the initial information about one of the homes to the Region and the Region notified the State on May 22, 2017 that the Region was going to initiate an enforcement action against the firm.
