On August 13, 2018, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order on Consent (AOC) under its authority pursuant to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) to XTO Energy Inc., located in Hawkins, Texas. The AOC was issued in response to violations of RCRA hazardous waste generator requirements including: 1) Notification requirements, and 2) Generator requirements. The AOC requires XTO Energy Inc. to certify and document compliance with applicable RCRA hazardous waste management requirements. XTO Energy Inc. must respond to EPA Region 6 within 90 days of the effective date of the AOC.
