## Summary

On May 6, 2013 a USEPA inspection team conducted a compliance inspection of the municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) program of the District of Columbia. The District's MS4 drains at least 24,000 acres of the District's area and drains into the Potomac River, Anacostia River, Rock Creek and their tributaries. The inspection team found that the District failed to maintain an electronic inventory of stormwater control practices, failed to practice good housekeeping at municipal facilities, failed to implement and document a stormwater training program and failed to include all required data for critical sources in the District's commercial and institutional databases. In its negotiated administrative order on consent and consent agreement and final order with USEPA the District has committed to addressing all of failures identified in the 2013 inspection and pay a $35,000 penalty.
