On September 12, 2018, Region 10 filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order that resolves violations of the TSCA Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Rule by Steve Hart Construction (Respondent), located in Boise, Idaho. EPA alleged that Respondent failed to follow the lead-safe work practices while performing renovation work on a pre-1978 residential property as required by the RRP Rule. Respondent specifically failed to post warning signs; failed to close windows and doors (includes door used as an entrance) in work area with plastic sheeting or other impermeable material; failed to cover the interior floor surface with taped-down plastic sheeting before beginning the renovation; and failed to contain waste from renovation activities to prevent releases of dust and debris. Respondent agreed to pay a penalty of $4,000.
