The Consent Decree with the Defendant, which addresses violations of Clean Air Act (CAA) regulations found at 40 C.F.R. Part 62, Subpart LLL, related to the Defendant's ownership and operation of two sewage sludge incineration (SSI) units at its wastewater collection and treatment facility located in Princeton, New Jersey. The State of New Jersey joined the United States as plaintiffs in this case, which addresses separate state law claims. Under the terms of the settlement, the Defendant will pay a total cash penalty of $335,750; the penalty will be divided equally between the United States and New Jersey.
