EPA received a tip/complaint alleging renovation work at a pre-1978 property located in Bronx, NY, not following lead-safe work practices, a violation of the Renovation, Repair, & Painting (RRP) Rule. Based on EPA's investigation, it is believed that the Respondent failed to obtain firm certification from EPA, failed to provide the building owner with the EPA-approved Lead hazard information pamphlet, failed to establish and maintain records, failed to ensure all involved workers were either certified renovators or had been trained by a certified renovator, and failed to assign a certified renovator to oversee the project. EPA will require the firm to come into compliance, and pay a monetary penalty.
