EPA issued a SDWA order to BIA for SDWA violations at the BIA Chemawa Indian School Public
Water System due to high levels of copper level in the drinking water. The order will require BIA to
select an appropriate corrosion control treatment, submit that recommendation to EPA, and, once
approved, begin installation of the treatment to lower the copper levels.
