The City of Chicopee, Massachusetts owns and operates a wastewater treatment facility. The facility was issued NPDES permit No. MA0101508 which authorizes the facility to discharge pollutants from the facility to the Connecticut River. Over the past two years the facility has discharged levels of BOD, TSS and Aluminum over the levels contained in the NPDES permit.
The AO, issued on November 14, 2018, provides a schedule of work to be completed at the facility. Once this work is complete the facility will be able to achieve compliance with their NPDES permit limits.
