The U.S. Navy and EPA entered into an Administrative Order on Consent to address uncorrected significant deficiencies at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling (JBAB) in Washington DC. The significant deficiencies were identified in sanitary surveys of the public drinking water system that serves the JBAB base. A corrective plan incorporated into the Order will track the activities by the Navy that will make physical changes to the distribution system and improve work practices to reduce the risk of contamination to drinking water. JBAB is a federal facility whose property has been a Department of Defense asset since 1917.
