On May 15, 2019 Region 10 filed an Expedited Settlement Agreement (ESA) with Tesoro Alaska Kenai Refinery to address Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) violations at its facility in Kenai, Alaska. The violations involved the violations of the large quantity generator container management standards and management of batteries as universal waste. Under the terms of the agreement, Tesoro Alaska Kenai Refinery certified that it has corrected the RCRA violations and paid a $9,000 civil penalty.
