The Collins and Aikman Plant (Former) Superfund Site (Site) is located in the Town of Farmington, New Hampshire. It is approximately 106 acres and includes both industrial property and undeveloped land where contamination released at the facility has come to be located. In August 1983, drinking water samples at the Site indicated the presence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The Site was listed on the National Priorities List (NPL) on December 12, 2013. EPA is the lead agency for performing a remedial investigation at the Site. EPA has requested access from George A. Sacco, Manager of Metal Farm, LLC, Respondent, to a ten-acre parcel, located at 56 Davidson Drive, Farmington, New Hampshire, which was sub-divided from the larger Site property to conduct the Remedial Investigation. Despite repeated requests from EPA, the Respondent has not consented to provide access.
Having exhausted reasonable attempts to obtain voluntary access from Respondent, this Administrative Order for Access pursuant to Section 104(e) of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) will permit RI/FS activities to continue at the Site without further extensive delay.
