EPA brought an administrative penalty action against the Louisiana-Pacific Corporation for alleged violations of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) and EPCRA's implementing regulations at Louisiana Pacific's manufacturing facility in New Limerick, Maine. EPA filed a case Complaint on February 14, 2019 alleging that the facility had failed to provide EPCRA Section 313 Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reports for a zinc compound used at the facility for calendar years 2015, 2016 and 2017. EPA and Louisiana-Pacific settled the case with a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) that was filed on March 28, 2019. Under the CAFO, Louisiana-Pacific certified that it had corrected the violations, and agreed to pay a settlement penalty of $49,724.
