EPA entered into an Administrative Order on Consent with American Samoa Shipyard Services Authority for violations of the Clean Water Act at the Satala Shipyard, including unauthorized discharges, failure to conduct required monitoring and reporting, and failure to comply with Best Management Practices to prevent the discharge of pollutants. The Order requires the American Samoa Shipyard Services Authority to repair its dry dock to prevent discharges, conduct proper monitoring and reporting, and implement Best Management Practices.
EPA and the American Samoa Shipyard Services Authority modified the Order on Consent. The modified Order requires the American Samoa Shipyard Services Authority to implement BMPs, revise its Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan, and seek coverage for stormwater discharges under the Multi-Sector General Permit.
