This is a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CA/FO) between US EPA and Respondents DeMenno-Kerdoon d/b/a World Oil Recycling and D/K Environmental dba World Oil Terminals-Vernon. EPA alleges that Respondents violated Section 3008 of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) at their Compton and Vernon, California facilities. The CA/FO requires and Respondents agreed to complete specified compliance tasks, pay a civil penalty of $39,092, and perform a Supplemental Environmental Project to reduce harmful air pollutants in classrooms by installing high performance air filtration systems in a school or schools in the area surrounding the World Oil Recycling Facility and/or the World Oil Terminals Vernon Facility, at a cost of no less than $167,967, and certify that the two facilities are in compliance with RCRA 3008 requirements upon signing the CA/FO.
